Outlook is frozen, crashing, or won't open
Outlook freezes completely or fails to launch at all.
Step-by-step fix · 5 steps

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), find OUTLOOK.EXE in the list, select it, and click End Task.

Reopen Outlook normally.

If it still won't open, restart the laptop.

Run a Quick Repair: Settings → Apps → Installed Apps → Microsoft 365 → three dots → Modify → Quick Repair. This takes about 2–3 minutes and does not remove any data.

If Quick Repair doesn't help, switch to outlook.office.com in Chrome to keep working.
