External monitor not detected
Plugged in a monitor but nothing appears on it.
Step-by-step fix · 4 steps

Unplug and firmly reseat the cable at both ends (laptop and monitor) — try HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C as appropriate.

Press Windows + P and select 'Extend' or 'Duplicate' to refresh the display configuration.

Restart the laptop with the monitor already connected and powered on.

Try a different cable or port to rule out a faulty cable.
